Steven J Push (www.stevenjpush.com)
“For the past seven years, Steven J Push has performed in the St. Louis area playing a mix of original and alternative pop cover music. In 2014, he recorded his first solo album, self-titled, and left his eight-year career teaching literature to tour the country as a musician.  Growing up in the Midwest before moving to Denver (shortly after picking up the guitar) at age 11, his music has been inspired by the roots and jam music popular in Denver rooted in the blues of the Mississippi River. Classic Rock, grunge, and singer-songwriters like Martin Sexton and Dave Matthews inspire his original music toward a folk and blues based rock vein. Often compared to Ray Lamontagne by bookers, his style is reflective while remaining optimistic.  His story telling lyrics are backed by impressive upbeat rock performances on his first project. The album – recorded in Native Sound Studios on Cherokee St., St. Louis, MO – was produced by David Beeman (who also contributed drums) with guitar and bass performances by David Vandervelde, and keys by Nathan Jatcko. The acoustic and vocal performance by Push are highlighted by the full band sound.”
